Fundraising evening at Thornton Hall Hotel for charity launched in memory of Thingwall woman Candice Colley

A FUNDRAISING evening is taking place for a charity launched in memory of a young woman who lost her fight against leukaemia.

The Candice Colley Foundation was launched in April last year by the family and friends of the 23-year-old to support people going through bone marrow transplants.

Candice, from Thingwall, lost her four-year battle with leukaemia in December, 2010.

The charity event – which will have a “pink or purple” theme – will be held at Thornton Hall Hotel, Wirral, on Saturday, October 13.

It will start at 6.45pm with a Champagne reception, followed by a three-course dinner with wine and coffee.

The night will be compered by radio presenter Willie Miller and will also feature music from Wirral band The Pickups, DJ sets and an auction.

Candice’s mum Angela Marincowitz said: “It was Candice’s wish for a foundation to be set up to make life a little easier for people who were going through similar illness and treatment, as well as their families.

“This could be for things like hospital parking, tunnel tolls or TV cards.

“In advance I would like to thank people for helping to support the Candice Colley foundation and joining us for these important events.

“Any extra support local business or organisations can offer with donating a raffle prize, or items for the goodie bags and auction at the ball would be gratefully received.”

To help raise extra funds for the foundation, there will be an auction with prizes donated by Wirral shops and businesses.

Everyone who attends will receive a goodie bag on arrival.

l Tickets for the event are £55 each. To book call Angela on 07582 926 926 or visit www.candicecolley.co.uk
