Wirral Arts: Russian artist holds unveils latest work in exhibition

A RUSSIAN artist will unveil her latest work at an exhibition in Wirral.

Self-taught artist Albina Kumirova has been busy concentrating on painting various subjects for her latest solo display.

Born in Russia, 52-year-old Albina has been an artist for 30 years and studied an art foundation course at Wirral Met College.

She is currently in her second year studying a fine art degree at John Moores university.

So far Albina has held 22 solo exhibitions across the country and a further five in Moscow.

Now living in Rock Ferry, she is interested in painting many subject matters – from portraits, dancers and fantasy to still life and landscape.

Albina works with numerous mediums including watercolours, acrylics and oil paintings as well as ink drawings.

She will exhibit her work at Bebington Library from tomorrow (Thursday, September 6) until September 22.

Albina said: “I have selected paintings from my collection for the exhibition with an emphasis on tradition.

“I enjoy writing poetry too, so visitors can purchase a 12-page booklet on what I have written or visit my blog and read the details there.

“I love painting people in various forms – portraits, dancers, nudes, fantasy pictures – but I am open to many other subjects such as flowers, still life and landscape.

“This exhibition will contain a variation of work, with dancers being my favourite subject which I paint.”
