Delays likely due to dock road closure

MOTORISTS have been warned to expect delays to their journeys after the closure of a key route between Wallasey and Birkenhead.

Work to repair and refurbish A and C bridges on Tower Road in Birkenhead is set to take 16 weeks.

Drivers will be diverted over the Duke Street bridge but access to the Twelve Quays ferry terminal will still be possible as only one of the bridges will be closed at a time. Both bridges will stay open to pedestrians.

The scheduled work will involve the replacement of damaged structural steel on the main bridges.
