A WARM glow filled Wirral’s Claire House children’s hospice as three young men took part in the Paralympic flame procession.
Alex Ratnaike, 19, from Little Neston; Chris Hulmes, 20, and Matthew Bintley, 19, both from Ellesmere Port; were nominated by Claire House to carry the torch as it passed through Ellesmere Port.
They were part of a group of 25 specially selected people who took part in the relay on August 25.
Alex’s mum Debi Ratnaike said: “It was an honour for these boys to be nominated by Claire House but to actually be chosen to take part is overwhelming.
‘‘The Paralympics is definitely close to our hearts.
‘‘It would be great to educate people disability is nothing to be frowned upon.”
