Competition in Wirral celebrates the life of Martin Luther King

A COMPETITION to celebrate the life of Martin Luther King was launched in Wirral.

The Universal Youth Support Service are giving youngsters a chance to act out the famous civil rights leader’s “The Weakness of Violence” speech and re-shape it for modern day.

Entries are encouraged to be as creative as possible, whether it is a short poem or message, or even more dynamic ideas such as raps or pieces of artworks.

The winner may also have their entry used for promoting non-violence.

The competition closes on Tuesday, January 31. Entries can be submitted to your local youth worker, or sent to Gill Marchant of Youth and Play, at Solar Campus, 235 Leasowe Road, CH45 8RE.

Winners will also receive a £30 voucher for HMV.
