A WIRRAL landlord raised nearly £25,000 for a charity which provides safe water in some of the world’s poorest countries.
Staff from Riverside Housing bog snorkelled and climbed mountains to raise cash for WaterAid, which was named as the housing association’s official charity in 2009.
Riverside’s pledge to dedicate three years to fundraising to the charity comes to an end on March 31.
Ronnie Clawson, director of corporate services, said: “We are overwhelmed by the generosity of our colleagues, especially since a lot of this money was raised during the economic downturn and alongside regular fundraising for other charities.
“There have been lots of great fundraising events going on across Riverside and staff really pushed the boat out for this worthy cause, from coffee, cake and even curry mornings, to golf days, raffles, bike rides, midnight walks, bog snorkelling and mountain climbing.
“We also launched a One Hour’s Pay Campaign where staff could donate an hour’s pay to WaterAid directly from their salary.”
Mr Clawson said Riverside chose WaterAid because safe water is something many of us take for granted.
