WEST Kirby Grammar School students had a Wilde night out to boost their Hillsborough play fund.
The group of sixth formers performed a selection of Oscar Wilde classics at the Wro Lounge in front of theatre lovers, parents, friends and school staff.
More than £800 was raised over two nights – bringing the school’s theatre fund total to £6,000.
The students are trying to raise £15,000 to stage a theatre performance based on the Hillsborough football disaster at next summer’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
The school’s head of drama Jo Halliday said: “The cast were fantastic and the audience really enjoyed the interpretations of Wilde’s work.
“To stage the Hillsborough play at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival we have to raise £15,000 to cover the costs of the venue hire, use of sound and lighting, equipment, publicity and marketing, travel and accommodatione.
