HOYLAKE’S third community film night will take place before Christmas – with a suitably festive film.
It’s a Wonderful Life will be screened at The Parade Hoylake Community Centre on Sunday, December 18.
After the success of the first two screenings, Nowhere Boy and Regeneration, community group Hoylake Village Life has put together a programme of films to be shown every month.
And the initiative has won plaudits from Wirral stars of the silver screen – including Hoylake-born James Bond actor Daniel Craig, who told the group it was “a wonderful thing” and wished them good luck.
A message from actress-turned MP Glenda Jackson said: “I was thrilled to hear about this wonderful new community cinema run by volunteers in my much-loved home town of Hoylake.”
Group member John Hall said: “This is a truly wonderful film and we are giving families the chance to experience this, the ultimate Christmas feel-good movie, on a large screen in a true community atmosphere.”
The film will start at the earlier time of 5.30pm, but doors will open at 4.30pm for mulled wine and mince pies.
Tickets are £5 from Urbane on The Row, The Parade, online at www.hoylakevillage.org.uk or on the door.
Numbers are limited and advanced booking is advised.
