Hoylake businessman ‘breaks out of jail’ to raise money for Fairbridge youth project

A WIRRAL businessman escaped from custody – in aid of charity.

Mark Scudder, of Everite Windows, in Hoylake, joined Jeff Murphy, of Merseyside Plastering and Caldan Solution, and Mal Mearns, of Bowmer and Kirkland, for the annual Fairbridge challenge over the weekend. They had to use their powers of persuasion to evade capture by a team of detectives from Merseyside Police.

Mr Big – Wirral-based DJ Pete Price – gave them tasks to carry out along the way.

The challenge has so far raised £5,879 for Fairbridge an outreach programme for young people.

Individual donations to Mark – dubbed “Scud Missile Mark” for the event – totalled £2,401.
