Hoylake dog groomer wins top styling award

A DOG groomer from Wirral has won a coveted award for her salon skills.

Glynis Stewart, owner of Trendy Pooches in Market Street, Hoylake, beat off competition from rivals from around the UK to land the Animology Groomer Of The Month.

Animology is an award-winning range of dog grooming shampoos and sprays, which is produced by Preston-based company Group55.

It recently laid down the challenge to groomers throughout the country to show off their skills by submitting before and after pictures of dogs which they groomed. They were judged by visitors to the company’s Facebook page.

Despite strong competition from talented canine stylists from across the UK, Glynis’ entry of Oscar the wirefox terrier proved too good for the rest.

Glynis won a supply of Animology products for use in her grooming salon, along with a framed certificate and a special rosette for Oscar.

Glynis said: “It is so nice to receive recognition for your work in this way.

“There were some really good entries from other groomers, which makes winning the award so pleasing.”

Group55’s sales manager Martin Breen said: “Glynis thoroughly deserves this award, as the many people who voted for her entry will agree.

“Oscar looked at his brilliant best after Glynis had worked her magic on him, and I am sure his owner was delighted.”
