Wirral Farmers’ Market this Saturday

WIRRAL Farmers’ Market returns on Saturday, offering tasty treats and fabulous food from some of the region’s best producers.

The market is held in New Ferry from 9am on the second Saturday of every month and boasts around 30 stalls.

There’s plenty to choose from.

As well as a hog roast and a cafe to satisfy your more immediate needs, shoppers have the opportunity to stock up on a variety of unusual flavours and fresh, local produce.

Barbara of Neston will be bringing down her English cakes and game pies, and Wallasey bakery Born and Bread will have gourmet loaves on offer.

Frodsham Brewery will be on hand with their exceptional brews, while the former Birkenhead-based Chocolate Cellar continues to go from strength to strength, maintaining a presence in Wirral through the farmers’ market, after moving across the water to Liverpool.

There’s also plenty of exotic choice alongside the hearty British offer.

A Taste of Greece brings home-baked Greek food, while Adesso has a selection of aromatic flavours to explore.

There’s Indian food from Nice and Spicy and Italian homemade pasta and sauces from Nonna Terasa, to go with the marinated olives brought over from Pozo Alcon Jaen, Spain, by the Sweetman Gamez family.

Wirral Farmers’ Market takes place this Saturday from 9am to 1pm at New Ferry Village Hall on Grove Street. There is free parking and the nearest Merseyrail station is about a ten- minute walk away at Bebington.
