AROUND 50 people took part in a pilgrimage walk from Neston to Chester.
The event to mark St Olave’s Day – the patron saint of Scandinavia – also included a minute's silence and special prayers for Norway following the bombing and shooting outrage.
The walk started at St Mary and St Helen Church in Neston and ended at the old St Olaves Church in Chester city centre.
At Neston, a specially-made Viking-style cross was on display – based on scans of original carvings.
The Vicar of Neston, the Rev Neill Robb, said the pilgrimage “was an impressive display of faith and a remembering of how important it is to pass on Christian beliefs down through the generations”.
