Former Icicle Works frontman Ian McNabbto play in West Kirby

FORMER Icicle Works frontman Ian McNabb is playing in West Kirby next month.

The Liverpool singer/songwriter musician dubbed “the sweetest guy in rock ‘n’ roll” (by Creation records founder Alan McGee) will perform at the Red Door on Tuesday, March 15.

Ian has been a professional musician since the age of 15, when he used to play at working men's social clubs in the North West – although he reckons he's only just getting started.

The founding member of classic Liverpool band the Icicle Works, his solo career has cemented his position as one of Britain's finest singer- songwriters.

His debut album This Way Up featured in Q Magazine's best albums released during Q's lifetime.

Head Like A Rock was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize and won praise from industry insiders.

The gig starts at 8pm and doors open at 7.
