ENIGMA Gallery artists are heading to Ness Gardens for their annual Spring Exhibition.
Clare Shaughnessy, Catherine Dipple and Susan Myers will uproot from their Bebington base for the bank holiday weekend, to show their latest work in the sumptuous surroundings of the south Wirral beauty spot.
Susan told Wirral Arts: “I’ve done it ever since I started painting professionally, 20 years ago.
“It’s a nice spot, people come out for the day and now they’ve got a new exhibition space which is very pleasant.
“It makes for quite a nice venue to hold an exhibition.
“There aren’t a lot of spaces around Wirral, I know we’ve got the gallery, but you do have to go out from that and exhibit in different places.”
The show case opens on Wednesday April 28 and runs over the bank holiday to May 4.
Susan, who paints on silk, Clare, a wildlife painter and Catherine, a contemporary artist, have worked together for years.
Susan said: “We’re all self taught.
“We didn’t go to college but over the years we became professional artists.
“Catherine majors in contemporary work but is really good at portrait paintings as well.
“Clare as a wildlife artist is just out of this world.
“You feel like you can sink your fingers into the fur and she’s expanding now to do a lot of oils, as well as watercolours.
“I paint on silk, which produces a very contemporary feel, a very bold feel.”
Enigma artists’ Spring Exhibition runs from April 28 to May 4, at Ness Gardens, Neston. For more information, visit www.enigma-arts.co.uk or call 0151 609 1010. Admission is free.
