Wirralians invited to get their walking boots on for 24th annual Wirral Coastal Walk

WIRRALIANS are invited to get their walking boots out for one of the borough’s biggest charity events.

The 24th annual Wirral Coastal Walk is taking place on Sunday, May 23 and thousands of walkers are expected to tackle the 15-mile route to raise money for their chosen good cause.

As usual, walkers will start at Seacombe Ferry and pass by New Brighton, Leasowe, Meols, Hoylake, West Kirby and Caldy before finishing at Thurstaston Country Park.

Completing the full 15 miles is optional and participants can also finish at 5 or 10 mile points.

The event is organised by the Rotary Club of North Wirral and sponsored by Unilever.

The Rotary Club’s Jim Costello said: “Each year the Wirral Coastal Walk provides thousands of people of all ages the opportunity to raise funds through sponsorship for charities organisations and clubs of their choice.

“So why not take this wonderful opportunity to walk the beautiful Wirral coast line and raise funds for the charity of your choice.”

Last year 4,500 people took part in the Coastal Walk, raising around £300,000 for charity.

Sponsorship forms can be obtained through VCA WIRRAL at 65, The Village, Bebington CH63 7PL. Telephone 0151 643 7275 or 7273, or email coastalwalk@vcawirral.org.uk
