MORE than 1,000 Birkenhead based Land Registry and Child Support Agency (CSA) workers walked out for 48 hours this week.
The action is part of a national strike by the Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS), over a government deal that would see redundancy payments capped at £60,000.
Land Registry PCS branch chairman Dave Lunn said the strength of support at the picket, which ran over both Monday and yesterday, was “absolutely fantastic”.
Dave said: “We had around 98% staying out, which works out at about 380 people.
“Only seven people went in on Monday, and I think most of them were senior managers.
“CSA was picketing as well, and I think they’ve been quite successful, with about 800 out.
“This is being replicated across the region, and country as well.
