Wirral children in care to get £90,000 funds for leisure activities

ALMOST £90,000 of funding has been secured to help children in care gain access to leisure activities.

An application to Comic Relief’s Sport for Change programme, by Wirral Council and Tranmere Rovers in the Community, has resulted in £88,000 being made available to give children in care a chance to participate on a regular basis in activities they would not normally try.

Wirral Council Cabinet member for children’s services and lifelong learning, Cllr Phil Davies said: “The children will not only learn new skills and enjoy the process of learning but will also have fun and get a real chance of achievement with the chance of gaining an award.”
