STAFF and customers at The Wro wine bar in West Kirby have raised £3,150 for the Hoylake Cottage Day Care Appeal. The bar set an initial target of £3,000 – and the last four months have seen a series of events aimed at beating it. A trip to France for the first crop of Beaujolais wine was the latest venture, following a race night, a French wine tasting, Dior and Chanel events, quiz night, carol concert and a post-London to Paris cycle ride celebration. Community fundraiser for Hoylake Cottage, Emma Keenan said: “The Wro wine bar have been fantastic to raise such an amount of money for our appeal. “The events that they held were really novel and great fun and I’m sure all the staff and customers had a great time. “We at Hoylake Cottage are incredibly grateful for all their hard work and support.” Funds raised will go towards a £1 million target to build a purpose-designed day care centre for older people at Hoylake Cottage.Read
