TWO west Wirral based businesses have been short-listed for the Wirral Trader of the Year accolade.
Heswall based Mobile Handyman and Caldy Construction will have to fend off two other entrants to win the award, presented by Wirral Council chief executive Steve Maddox in February.
Rivalling them are Furber Roofing, Colin Jones Bathrooms, and Caldy Construction.
No stranger to recognition, The Mobile Handyman was second place in the 2008 Trader of the Year Award, and was highlighted at the same ceremony as a five-star business.
The list was announced last Thursday at a Wirral Traders Association awards ceremony celebrating the finest in the borough.
All 120 members of Wirral Traders Association were asked to provide customer service surveys to their employers after completing jobs, and among the many excellent ratings 35 businesses received 100% satisfaction.
Wirral Council head of strategic development, Kevin Adderly handed out last week's awards, saying: “Wirral Council is working hard to support all our businesses, and I was pleased to present the certificates to a group of well deserving traders. “Excellence in customer service is difficult to achieve, and the more quality businesses we have in the borough the better for us all.”
