Children in Need: On Friday November 20, each of the school’s six houses are to run events including bingo, making pictures out of one and two pence pieces, penny jenga, decorating biscuits and a treasure hunt quiz.

Children in Need. Today,Wednesday, the Wallasey Village school is holding a non-uniform day. Tonight staff are performing Thriller with Maths teacher Chris Hoppins doing his Michael Jackson thing, Other staff are performing a selection of Leona Lewis tracks.

Jo Jingles

Children in Need. Jo Jingles classes for pre-school children are holding a sponsored singalong, pictured left. Jo Jingles is hoping to raise several thousand pounds across the country this week after donating in excess of £100,000 to Children in Need last year.To purchase your own four track charity CD or to take part in the sessions visit www.jojingles.com.

Christmas Bazaar

Hoylake Cottage There are just a few places left for a Christmas Bazaar in aid of Hoylake Cottage at the Royal Liverpool Golf Club on November 19 and 20. Stalls already booked will be offering a range of gifts including jewellery, clothes, soft toys and floral arrangements Admission is £5, payable on the door. All proceeds will go to the Hoylake Cottage Day Care Appeal. Anyone interested in taking a stall at the event should call organiser Helen Latham on 632 7302.

Tuxedos and Tiaras

Clatterbridge Cancer Research Tickets are still on sale for a Tuxedos and Tiaras evening to raise funds for Clatterbridge Cancer Research. Guests will join pop stars, local celebrities and the Lord Mayor of Chester, Councillor John Ebo, for a champagne reception, a four-course meal and live entertainment at the De Vere Carden Park Hotel in Cheshire on Saturday. Christmas Fair

St David’s Eastham United Reformed Church. From 10.30am to 1.30pm. Father Christmas will arrive at 11am. Includes home-made cakes, dfancy goods, white elephant stall. Coffee and cakes and fresh lunches.
