Wirral Council approves free leisure access for armed forces

MEMBERS of the armed forces who live in Wirral are to be given free access to the borough’s leisure facilities.

Councillors approved the proposal at Monday night’s full council meeting at Wallasey Town Hall.

The move is being called “a demonstration of the appreciation of the people of Wirral”.

When the scheme is underway, free access would be granted on production of a warrant or I.D card.

It would only apply to service personnel currently in the armed forces.
