Birkenhead’s Central Hotel launches comedy nights

TOP comics are lining up to perform at monthly comedy nights at Birkenhead’s Central Hotel.

Shenanigans at the hotel’s Monaghan’s bar launched three months ago and has attracted an array of new talent and established acts from the national comedy circuit.

Danny Deegan and Mike Newall from Manchester and Ste Porter – billed as “Liverpool’s most exciting top talent” – have headlined the night so far.

Comedy nights at the Central are compered by Scooby.

The hotel’s Paul Turner said: “Scooby has proved a smash success and he is back again this month as the club’s favourite MC.

“The club has already attracted a loyal group of followers and is gaining a great reputation as a top comedy venue by encouraging the best of new talent and brilliant audiences.

“For just £4 this is the best value night out you can have in Birkenhead.”

The next comedy night at the Central is on Saturday, November 7, headlined by Dom Woodward.

Paul said: “Dom’s confident and cheeky persona charms audiences.

“Always in demand as headliner, support and compere, he performs regularly all over the UK.”

Support will come from up-and-coming comics Jay Hampson, Letty Flynn, Derry Hunter and New Zealander Raj Chauhan.

THE line-up for Saturday, November 28 is Phil Ellis, Johnathan Elston, Andy Rannard, Eddie O'Dwyer Smith and Glen Simpson.
