Birkenhead band The Jokers coming home next month for gig at Revolver

HIGHLY-TIPPED band The Jokers are coming home for a gig at Revolver.

The rockers have been promoting their debut album, The Big Rock n Roll Show, in London, but will be back in Birkenhead on November 6 for their first home town gig.

The CD has received rave reviews in the music press, with Powerplay magazine making it album of the month in July.

The album was recently featured on the Sunday Rock Show on community radio station 92.1FM 7waves, prompting presenters Kev McDempster and Keith Thompson to secure the booking.

Keith said: “When we previewed the album on the show, we wanted to find out for ourselves why media like Classic Rock magazine had liked it so much.

“When the guys came into the studio to talk through the tracks, we were convinced that these guys have the quality songwriting, image and conviction to make it big.

“This band stand every chance of becoming legends. We really want them to succeed because they have all the ingredients, a great image, hard work and, above all, quality songwriting.

“If there was an X Factor for proper bands, The Jokers would win hands down.

“Rock is in revival mode and with bands like The Jokers around, it’s no wonder.”

Joker Jet said: “The music is deliberately positive and upbeat and our shows reflect that.

“We are looking forward to doing The Big Rock n Roll Show at Revolver.”
