A SPECTACULAR event will be put on at the Port Sunlight Royal British Legion next month.
On September 20, from 1.30pm, an event expected to draw in the crowds will take place and offer lots and lots of top-class entertainment.
The Sunday Spectacular will feature Billy Myers, a very talented man with a very big voice.
The singer from Birkenhead has an ability to sing and perform songs from country to opera.
Billy has worked with many stars including Sir Cliff Richard and Elaine Paige.
He now tours the UK and Europe.
He will be joined by comedian and former Coronation Street actor Tony Barton.
Tony is an acclaimed singer having been trained by Julie Andrew's Mother.
He is a sought-after cabaret performer for cruises, hotels and clubs.
But he’s probably best known for being a great comedian, compère and member of the Water Rats.
BSM, the legion’s resident band, will also be performing on the night.
Clive Boyd, club treasurer said: “It’s going to be such a great event and one which really shouldn't be missed. As well as all the entertainment there will also be some good food on offer and raffles, with great prizes to be won.”
This big event highlights the success of The British Legion, which was close to being shut last year.
But thanks to a re-shuffle of the old committee, the club managed to survive and is now thriving.
The legion offers more events than ever now and is attracting new members all the time.
Regular live entertainment is put on for members every Saturday and Sunday.
Clive added: “This legion is an integral part of village life and it’s our job as a committee to give our members a better time.
“It cost £11 a year to join the club but anyone can come to big events like the Sunday Spectacular.”
Port Sunlight Royal British Legion is located at Hesketh Hall Port Sunlight.
Tickets for the Sunday Spectacular cost £5.
