SIX winning recipes from Wirral cooks using of leftover food will be distributed to borough residents.
The delicious dishes won a competition organised by Wirral Council as part of the Love Food Hate Waste campaign.
The aim was to find a selection of recipes which either make use of leftover ingredients or can be made in a large portion and divided to make several quick meals later.
Among the winners was Anthony Zausmer from New Brighton, the creator of the Scouse Meatballs recipe.
He said: “The meatballs are great because you can put anything into them.
“At Christmas I have done turkey and cranberry meatballs – they are quick and easy and anybody can make them.”
The recipes have now been published as recipe cards which are being distributed across the borough and can be found online at www.wirral.gov.uk/foodlovers
