Michel Roux Jr is Claire Lara’s star guest

MICHELIN-starred chef Michel Roux Jr was the guest of honour at the official opening of Claire Lara’s new Wirral restaurant.

The Masterchef: The Professionals presenter welcomed guests – including Bromborough chef Paul Askew and Andrew Pimbley from the Wirral Food and Drink Festival – to The Riverhill, Oxton, where Claire is now co-head chef.

He said: “Claire is such a talented chef. When she won the show I promised her that I would be at the launch whenever and wherever she chose to open her restaurant.

“The MasterChef winners don’t just win a trophy – they win my heart, and none more so than Claire. She makes the most exquisite food.”

Claire said: “It was an honour to cook for so many family, friends, and of course, Michel, who came all the way from London.”
