A WIRRAL teenager proved she has the X Factor by winning the chance to interview stars of the show twice over.
Laura Condon from Bebington became a roving reporter for the day, visiting the show’s studios in London to interview contestants Little Mix and Janet Devlin and judge Louis Walsh.
This was Laura’s second chance to meet the stars, as she made such an impression the first time that they invited her back to the studios.
The 17-year-old pupil at Wirral Grammar School for Girls entered the competition online in summer.
Laura’s first brush with X Factor came in July when she took along her class mate Hannah Marther-Coe and interviewed the presenters. The pair were given cameras and exclusive access to judges room and backstage.
Laura said: “This time I produced teaser videos with Dermot and Louis and interviewed the stars for live web chats. Two of my interviews were produced live and two more will be going on line this week.”
Laura saw the competition advertised on the X Factor website. She added: “I wrote in explaining why I wanted to do it and then passed two phone interviews before being told I had won.
“In July, Hannah and I were given all area access and a camera to interview the shows judges. I feel extremely lucky to have been able to return to the show and loved meeting all the contestants, watching rehearsals, and getting a make-over from the X Factor style team.
“Louis Walsh suggested that I pursue a career in TV and it’s something I’m now seriously considering.”
Wirral Grammar School for Girls headteacher Elaine Cogan said: “We are all extremely pleased that Laura has been given such a fantastic opportunity. Her invitation to return to the show is testament to her talent.”
