THE dad of a teenager tragically killed at a Liverpool railway station today paid tribute to his “precious angel”.
Georgia Varley, 16, fell from a platform at Liverpool James Street on Saturday night.
It is thought that she had been running along the platform after a Wirral-bound train after a night out in Liverpool with friends and family when she fell.
It is believed that some of the party were already on board the train, which had begun to move away from the station.
Georgia’s dad, Paul, of New Brighton, was today being comforted by friends and said he had laid down for a rest on Georgia’s bed.
He said: “Georgia was just amazing. I have a constant lump in my throat and I don’t know how to feel or what to say.
“She was so loved and she never had an upside down smile on. She was such a happy girl.
“I would say to her ‘you’re always changing between groups of friends’ but she made an impression on so many people.”
In a earlier written tribute, Paul said: “If I could just hold you in my arms once more, I would never let you go.
“Our precious little angel has been taken away too soon, we are all devastated Gee.
“This was not in our plans Georgia, there is now a void that can never be filled.
“Now spread your wings and fly angel, you will never be forgotten.
“Love you forever, Dad, Amber and family.”
Yesterday the British Transport Police said the circumstances surrounding Georgia’s death were “unclear” and officers were speaking to witnesses on the platform and the train driver.
A spokesman said: “We dealt with an incident at Liverpool James Street station after receiving reports at 11.34pm on Saturday. Officers are liaising with the victim’s family and friends. Our thoughts are with them at this time.”
Flowers were left outside the train station and messages taped to the window.
