Amy’s Club for young disabled adults to open in Wirral

A CLUB for young disabled adults to meet and enjoy activities is opening in Wirral.

Amy’s Club is aimed at people aged 17 to 25 and designed to keep young adult minds busy.

Activities on offer include cupcake decorating, learning how to DJ, jewellery making and Wii tournaments. It will also have computers, a pool table, arts and crafts, bingo and quizzes.

Amy’s club is based at the Allandale Youth Works, on the corner of Oakdale Road and Lucerne Road, Seacombe.

Initially it will open on Monday, October 10 and Thursday, October 13 from 10am-2pm, with a view to opening permanently in December.

Jayne Hughes, organiser of Amy’s Club and founder of the Amy And Friends charity, decided to set up the club after realising there young disabled adults needed better provision.

Jayne told the News: “This club will be full of fun, excitement and laughter, with many activities to keep our young adults’ minds busy.

“There will be no charge for Amy’s Club. We ask that anyone who is interested comes along with their carer or parent and a packed lunch.

“However a buffet will be provided on Monday, October 10 and there is a low-cost tuck shop available.

“It anyone would like to join the club permanently, please advise us as soon as possible.

“We look forward to welcoming you there.”
