Fourth annual Birkenhead Park Festival of Transport draws the crowds
THE fourth annual Birkenhead Park Festival of Transport was hailed as the best yet by organisers.
The free two-day event, which draws an average attendance of 30,000 visitors, gives people the chance to view a selection of classic cars and motorcycles produced during the heyday of British manufacturing.
Among the displays on Saturday and Sunday was the largest ever selection of working steam vehicles and traction engines, while enthusiasts showed off their own car, motor cycle or commercial vehicle. As well as transport-related attractions, there was a Victorian fairground, a food and craft marquee plus musicians and a diverse range of side stalls.
The event is organised by members of the Birkenhead Lions Club, along with support from the Wallasey, Ellesmere Port and Liverpool Lions Club.
