Coat found in search for Wirral man Robbie Croft’s ruled out

A JACKET found in the search for missing dad Robbie Crofts was today ruled out as his.

The coat, found partially buried in sand on New Brighton beach yesterday afternoon, alerted detectives hunting for the 21-year-old.

Crowds gathered at the seafront as rumours spread that a body had washed ashore.

Mr Crofts, from New Brighton, went missing hours after attending Mathew Street festival last Sunday.

His girlfriend of three weeks, Hayley Holmes, 17, was found drowned on the beach by a dog walker the next morning.

Search and rescue teams are continuing to scour the coastline..
