BREWS and bacon rolls earned a Wallasey woman a nomination in a competition to find Wirral’s best neighbour.
Anne Blackburn of Gorse Hill Crescent was put forward for the Wirral Partnership Homes award by workers from its paint and repair team.
They said they were grateful for Anne’s generosity while they worked on houses in the road.
One of the team, Terry Wilson, said: “It's the only time I've ever been chased down the road by someone who wanted to give me a cup of tea!”
The team arranged for Anne to be presented with flowers, chocolates and a certificate declaring her a “Super Neighbour”.
She has also been entered into the Wirral Partnership Homes 2011 Good Neighbour competition, with the winner receiving £100 in vouchers.
Anne said “It's a nice street and we all try and look after each other.”
