A CRASH on Walton Hall Avenue caused traffic chaos this morning as motorists struggled with icy conditions and snow.
A mazda car and white van crashed at just after 7am this morning at the junction of Stopgate Lane.
The 40-year-old female car driver was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Liverpool airport was forced to close for five and a half hours last night as snow fell, but an airport spokesman said that no flights were cancelled and delays were expected to clear later on today.
The highways agency said that the M53 was kept open last night with gritters and snow ploughs out when the snow fell.
Commuters faced more delays today as Merseyrail continues to operate a 30 minute Sunday service across its network and Northern Rail cancelled its services to Manchester airport from Lime Street.
This morning Merseytravel issued an update on buses affected by the cold weather.
