A FURIOUS dad is pulling his son out of sex education lessons at a Wirral school after branding a DVD being shown to 10-year-olds “cartoon porn”.
Christopher Lee Power said he was close to tears during a parental preview at Higher Bebington juniors of the film, which includes a naked cartoon couple chasing each other around a bed with a feather before having intercourse in a number of positions.
Viewers are told about physical changes during sex, which is described as “very exciting for both as they feel happy being together”.
Mr Power, a Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (Rada) trained actor, called for the “How Babies Are Made” section of Channel 4’s Living And Growing sex education video to be taken off the timetable at any Wirral primary school following suit.
Parents were invited to view the DVD the school will show to 10-year-olds later this term in sex education.
But after saying his son will not be permitted to watch it, Mr Power said it would “take away the innocence of a child” and access to the “graphic” footage would lead to children mimicking what they had learned and even experimenting sexually.
The school has pledged to edit the footage, which it admitted “does trivialise the important messages”.
Mr Power said: “It is far too graphic.
