MISS England model scouts have been out in Wirral hoping to drum up interest in a competition that leads all the way to a shot at Miss World.

Current Miss England, Lance Corporal Katrina Hodge, joined her colleagues on a tour of the peninsula as they searched for beautiful women to enter the Miss Wirral competition and take part in the subsequent television documentary series.

Katrina is a serving soldier who was decorated for bravery in Iraq, but still managed to represent her country in the Miss World event, held last year in Johannesburg.

The Wirral heat is a direct round into the Miss England finals and is being held in Gladstone Theatre, Port Sunlight on Thursday June 24.
