Ex-soldier Steve Pitt is election candidate for Liberal Democrats in Wallasey

THE Liberal Democrats in Wallasey have selected former soldier Steve Pitt as their candidate for the General Election.

The current president of Wallasey Liberal Democrats, he was born and brought up in the area and attended Egerton Grove Primary and Wallasey Technical Grammar School.

After leaving the Army, Mr Pitt has worked in electrical installation, warehouse management and as day supervisor for adults with autism and has a degree in politics and history and a Masters in 20th Century history.

He has stood as Liberal Democrat candidate for Seacombe Ward since 2004, and in 2009 was Liberal Democrat candidate in the Moreton West & Saughall Massie By-Election.

His opponents from the main political parties will be Labour’s Wallasey MP Angela Eagle and Liscard Conservative councillor Leah Fraser.
