FURBER Roofing has been short-listed for the Wirral Trader of the Year award.

The Wallasey based contractor will have to fend off three other entrants to scoop the gong, presented by Wirral Council chief executive Steve Maddox in February.

Rivalling them are Caldy Construction, The Mobile Handyman, and Colin Jones Bathrooms.

Furber, the first roofing contractor to join the Wirral Trading Standards scheme, have in the past received a Trading Standards Award from Wirral Mayor Peter Johnson.

The list was announced last Thursday at a Wirral Traders Association awards ceremony celebrating the finest in the Borough.

All 120 members of Wirral Traders Association were asked to provide customer service surveys to their employers after completing jobs, and among the many excellent ratings 35 businesses received 100% satisfaction.

Wirral Council head of strategic development, Kevin Adderly handed out last week's awards, saying: “Wirral Council is working hard to support all our businesses, and I was pleased to present the certificates.”
