Top modelling agency signs Wallasey School pupil after spotting her on television

WHEN Wallasey School performed Grease on television in September, all eyes were on leading lady Danielle O’Neill.

But it was a brief appearance by the 16-year-old’s sister Becky which caught the attention of a top London modelling agency.

The 13-year-old has been signed by Select after co-founder Chrissie Castagnetti spotted her while watching the programme.

The London agency launched the careers of big names Agyness Deyn, Stella Tennant, Lily Cole and Daisy Lowe.

Becky has been signed as one of the agency’s New Faces and will be given advice and guidance on how to start a career in modelling.

Becky who also attends Wallasey School, said; “I was shocked when we got the call but so excited!

“I’ve got braces so wasn’t sure if that would be a problem but they told me that some magazines and brands like braces and others might want to wait until they come off before working with me.

“I can’t wait to get started and to learn all about it.”

Chrissie Castagnetti said; “I have been in the industry for three decades and I know instinctively when I see a potential new face.

“I saw Becky on TV and invited her and her family to come to London to meet the team. We were unanimous in our decision and offered her representation the following day.

Becky and Danielle’s mum Debbie said: “We’ve had the most unbelievable year with Danielle doing well with Grease and now Becky being signed to Select.”

“We feel very lucky but it’s early days for them both and school will always come first.”
