Charity 10k run on Leasowe Common raises £2,000 for St John’s Hospice

MORE than 220 runners took part in a charity 10k run on Leasowe Common on Sunday.

The event was organised by the Rotary Club of West Wirral in aid of St John’s Hospice.

The overall winner, with a time of 35 minutes and 45 seconds, was Lee Jones from Deeside Athletic Club. The first woman to finish was Alison Hughes of Ellesmere Port Athletic Club, with a time of 43 minutes and 59 seconds.

The event has so far raised over £2,000 for the hospice.
