Poundland moves in to Liscard

POUNDLAND is moving in to the former Woolworths shop in Liscard.

Liscard councillor Leah Fraser said: “With so many people feeling the pinch in the recession, Poundland has clearly spotted an opportunity in the market.

“It is good that the store will be brought back into use and I hope that the ex-Woolies staff will be among the new recruits.

“I worked at the Liscard store as a ‘Saturday girl’ when I was 16 and, like many Wallasey residents, have very fond memories.

“I hope that the management of Poundland will play their part in the Liscard Traders Association.”
