THE distraught mum and dad of a teenager killed in a stolen car have told how they donated his organs to help save the lives of others.
Daniel Harding, 17, died in January as his friend tried to speed away from police in Maghull.
A Wirral barman, 25, received the teenager’s kidney after being on a hospital waiting list for 18 months, and was allowed home within a week.
And a Wirral driving instructor, 53, took Daniel’s second kidney to replace his own diseased organ after a four- year wait.
Dad Joe said: “We had just one-and-a-half hours after to his death to decide if we should donate his organs. But we all came to the same choice.”
Daniel’s parents were sent a letter informing them of where the teenagers’ organs were allocated.
Dale Done, 18, was jailed for eight years after he admitted causing the death of his long-time friend Daniel.
