A £6.5m blueprint to rebuild a primary school whose old building was attacked by arsonists has been unveiled.
The multi-million masterplan gives Park Primary in Wallasey a fresh start next year.
Council chiefs outlined details of the project just days after arsonists were blamed for a fire which spread to three classrooms in its old school building in Love Lane.
Education officials have confirmed the new school will have a host of environmentally -friendly features and minimum carbon emission.
These include low energy electrical fittings and heating controls, water saving devices including using rain water to power the school, and high levels of insulation.
All timber used will be from sustainable sources regulated by the Forestry Stewardship Council.
The new school, costing £6.5m, will comprise 12 classrooms and its design will ensure it has full disabled access.
It will accommodate up to 360 pupils - compared to the 315 currently on roll.
The rebuild will also include outdoor classrooms and flexible learning areas for pupils as part of a desire to “encourage well-being, self-esteem and a sense of ownership.”
