AREAS within Seacombe and Wallasey have been hit with Section 30 orders, making it an offence to congregate in groups or return within 24 hours if moved on.
The orders came into force in Seacombe on January 2, and will run for six months until July 2.
The Section 30 covers Brighton Street (from the junction of Rappart Road to the junction of Borough Road), Liscard Road (from the junction of Liscard Road to the junction of Borough Road), Borough Road, Rappart Road, the roads and footpaths enclosed within these roads, as well as Riverview Road and Demesne Street.
Wallasey’s Section 30 order came into force on January 9 and will also run for six months, until July 9.
The order covers St Paul’s Road, Kelvin Road, Wheatland Lane, Birkenhead Road and all the footpaths in and around these roads.
The designated areas were authorised by Merseyside Police and supported by Wirral Council’s Community Safety team.
Wallasey neighbourhood sergeant, Paul Parry, said: “Residents in these areas have been subject to ongoing intimidation and having to live within areas subject to criminal damage and persistent anti-social behaviour.
“This kind of behaviour will not be tolerated. We are making great inroads in tackling anti-social behaviour, this is just one of the many tactics we use to combat anti-social behaviour and rowdy behaviour.”
