More than 2,000 people in Wirral have diabetes and don’t realise it

MORE than 2,000 people in Wirral could have diabetes - but not know it.

Figures have revealed that the number of people suffering from the disease in the borough has now reached more than 14,200, 4.26% of the local population.

Dr Abhi Mantgani, medical director for Wirral PCT, said: “Although we have a range of health schemes in place to help people with diabetes, there is still more work to be completed in this area.”
