ACTRESS and comedian Pauline Daniels is joining Age Concern Wirral to promote this year’s Wear a Hat Day.
The event will encouraging local people to wear a hat on November 28 to raise awareness of the work of the charity and its winter warmth message.
Pauline is following in the footsteps of Patricia Routledge who headlined the event in 2006 and Charlie Landsborough who led Wear a Hat Day last year.
Myrtle Lacey, Age Concern Wirral’s chief executive, said: “We are delighted that Pauline Daniels has agreed to join us for Wear A Hat Day 2008.
“For the past two years the event has got bigger and better, and we are really looking forward to the programme of events we have planned.
“We hope that people will enjoy the event while also learning more about the top tips for keeping warm and well during winter.’”
The day will begin with Pauline visiting Prenton High School, her former school, where all staff and pupils will be wearing hats as part of the event.
It will continue with visits to Age Concern Wirral’s Active Age Centre in Wetstone Lane, meeting staff and customers in the Pyramids and Grange shopping centre and Birkenhead market as well as the Harvest Court complex in Moreton.
