Clare Mount Specialist Sports College pupils produce DVD to help minibus funding appeal

PUPILS from Clare Mount Specialist Sports College in Moreton used their film-making skills to help their school’s minibus funding bid.

Learning Mentor Sharon Williams led a team of 30 pupils from the school’s student council and the travel panel group to work towards a successful application to the Youth Capital Fund for £31,000 to buy a minibus providing disabled access.

As part of their submission, the groups produced a DVD highlighting the need for the specially adapted vehicle.

Headteacher Shirley Allen said: “This is brilliant news for the school and our pupils.

“In the past we’d have to hire specialist coaches, and in some cases taxis for our disabled pupils, so getting this minibus will be of tremendous benefit.”
