Witness appeal over Moreton sex attack on girl, 13

WITNESSES to a sexual assault on Pasture Road, Moreton in June this year are being sought by Merseyside Police.

On June 19, a 13-year-old girl of vulnerable disposition was approached by a man calling himself Les, described as white and with a green frog shaped tattoo on the back of his left hand, while she was sitting at a bus stop.

It was around 5.30pm and the stop, outside the Coach and Horses in Moreton Cross, was occupied by other people, who then boarded a bus leaving the girl alone with the man.

Before the other passengers left, the man introduced himself to the youngster, kissed her and sexually assaulted her.

The offender then took the girl to a local fish pond, within the grounds of Cadbury's Pasture Road factory site.

He forced her to the floor and sexually assaulted her, eventually letting her go after she repeatedly asked to go home to her mother.

The man was then seen heading to Moreton train station and boarding a Liverpool bound train.

He said he was from Liverpool, slobbered when he spoke and was of average build with short greying hair, a wrinkled, stubbly face and wearing a blue track suit and training shoes.

The offender was also wearing a gold watch on his right wrist and had stained yellow fingers.

Detective inspector Dave Grisenthwaite said: “I would appeal to anyone who may have been in the area to help us identify this man.”

l Anyone who may have any information which could help with enquiries regarding this incident, or recognise the description and know this man, is urged to call Merseyside Police on 0151 777 2265, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
