Five arrested after man is found stabbed in Birkenhead street

A 42-YEAR-OLD man was found stabbed in the back next to his smashed-up car in Birkenhead on Sunday evening.

The victim, whose injuries are not thought to be life-threatening, is being treated at Arrowe Park hospital for a knife wound and other cuts.

Police and paramedics were called after residents in Watson Street reported hearing a woman screaming for help around 10pm.

Witnesses said the windows of the man’s car were smashed.

Five men from Birkenhead have been arrested and are being questioned.
