Wirral fitness fans are crazy about Kangoo boots

A NEW craze is taking over Wirral as more fitness enthusiasts begin to bounce off the calories under the sun.

The Canadian Kangoo boots were created originally for rehabilitation after surgery and for the prevention of injuries.

But now women, men and children are running like kangaroos to tone up, keep fit and have fun.

These boots drastically increase endurance levels and reduce impact shock to your ankles, hips and spine by up to 80pc compared with normal trainers.

Many people love the boots because a 20-minute Kangoo workout is the same as 40 minutes normal aerobic activity.

Helen Everitt, 47, of Neston, has been teaching Kangoo for over three years in health clubs and community centres across Wirral.

She said: “Now summer is here we actually go outside in the boots because it’s nicer than being stuck inside.

“You can run for miles because you don't feel the same level of strain and effort as you do in trainers, but you still burn the same amount of calories.”
