Wirral MPs back campaign to honour Lancaster bombers

TWO of Wirral’s four MPs have backed a campaign to honour the Lancaster Bombers.

MP for Wirral South, Ben Chapman and Birkenhead MP Frank Field have both added their weight to pressure to ensure those who took part are recognised.

During World War Two, 55,000 men from Bomber Command were killed but successive governments have refused to award surviving veterans their own campaign medal.
